I didn't used to have the time to go up to the seacoast back then (I'm in western Mass) but eventually found myself there all the time, visiting all kinds of restaurants. Now, being an "expert" myself, I stumbled across this blog again! Sad to see that you gave up writing on it back in 2014.

One place that I loved, must be my favorite, is 5 Thai Bistro in Portsmouth. Get the deluxe pad thai with crispy duck.

Hope you get back to your reviews again. They're fun to read. They are expensive burgers, and no longer worth the price. Though I live with my seven children only a mile away, I will not return. My stomach was upset for 24 hours after ingesting the last Wild Willy’s burger I will ever eat.

For $58.00, I purchased one plain burger, two plain cheeseburgers, and three “Wicked Good” burgers, as well as two large orders of fries.

Their punchcards are contradictory and misleading, if not downright underhanded. In large letters at the top of the card, it says, “BUY 6 BURGERS, GET ONE FREE.” Underneath, in much smaller print, it says, among several other rules, " Blah blah blah. . . one punch per visit . . . yadda yadda yadda"

So, I suppose, to earn a free burger I ought to have had each one of my children order a burger separately, and pay separately?

I pointed out that what the card OUGHT to say was something along the lines of, “6 Burgers in 6 Visits—Get One Free.” I told the well-dressed, attractive older woman who rang me out that the card contradicted itself. I told her they should re-print their cards to accurately reflect their frequent-flier program. She was in complete denial of the contradictory wording, and her attitude became quite unprofessional, to put it politely. After visiting their Web site and seeing her picture, I was able to identify her as the owner’s wife.

Note that everything is a la carte. Burgers are up to $9.75, then add on the cost of fries or onion rings, a drink, etc.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339656808567886137.post-44467253891261677502013-01-15T10:25:20.553-05:002013-01-15T10:25:20.553-05:00I haven't ever been to a restaurant like this ...I haven't ever been to a restaurant like this one, I read this and want to try it. Our server was not only rude to us but to the people next to us as well. I will go back but did complain on my way out. This was probably six months ago, and as a vegetarian there was little of real interest on the menu for me. I can't remember what my husband (not a vegetarian) had, but he didn't find the menu particularly, or very interestingly, Greek! The atmosphere was very pleasant, tables not too close together and service very good. Everything is fresh and I've met the owner several times and have never found her unfriendly. I personally think Gordo's knocks Las Olas and Dos Amigos out of the park, but I guess some people don't know good food unless it's out of a to go bag covered in grease.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339656808567886137.post-56139574523300133472010-09-27T16:10:40.706-04:002010-09-27T16:10:40.706-04:00I fully agree with your review. Iced tea tasted like it came from a toilet. Cheeze Whiz is not a Mexican food. I got the 14.99 sampler and it had less meat in it than you could possibly imagine. The wait staff was always friendly and aimed to please however like the Anonymous post said, they look completely overwhelmed and cannot get a handle on their tables. The bar service is a bit better but getting worse with each visit we've made sadly enough. After our meal, we waited about 15 minutes to order coffee or dessert then casually started looking around for our bartender. We noticed she was enjoying a meal in the lounge which all in all isn't a bad thing but it would have been nice to have been told she was off or no longer serving us. So, we won't be going back any time soon - too bad, the muscles were outstanding.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6339656808567886137.post-44091107593008915882010-05-02T14:53:17.497-04:002010-05-02T14:53:17.497-04:00I've never liked that place. It was a wonderful experience and the ocean views were the best. The food was fabulous and the oven baked fries were excellent. Much better than fried. The chicken dish I had was filled with pasta and 3 small chunks of chicken, and the dessert was enough to feed an entire family, they need to scale the portions to an elegant sweetness. However, I think now they got it! the food has been consistent in every way, priced appropriately for today's economy and the options are just right. I have meetings and other catering functions periodically, Hagan's has always find a way to accommodate us and to design a menu according to our needs...something to say about very few establishments in this business and that is why we enjoy coming back. The customer service is like no other EXCELLENT in every way. I have witness and experienced how the servers as well as the chefs know the customers needs and preference in beverage, food etc. This is like no other! As you can see this is my favorite place to visit and to bring my colleagues and family when I'm entertaining. Hagan's has a very inviting and relax atmosphere and they seem to be very conscientious and aware of the customers needs.
